Super Powers prototype enthusiasts may remember the debut of this conceptual Darkseid on the site years ago in its wax sculpt form. While the sculpting doesn't reside in my collection, I was afforded the opportunity a few years back to purchase this original unpainted hardcopy and jumped at the chance to finally have an example of this early rendition. As you can see, it's cast in a brown urethane commonly referred to as carbalon. The torso and head are cast as a single piece, but the limbs are all pinned to the torso using metal dowels. Also note the legs were sculpted as single components instead of the later two-piece construction. This piece clearly represents an early look into the development of the Darkseid figure.
